Actor Kim Ji-hoon discussed his 3-year hiatus in the past.

On the 6th, actor Kim Ji-hoon appeared as a guest on Kim Jeong-nan's YouTube channel. Kim Jeong-nan asked him, "You used to be a flower boy, but now you’ve become a beastly man. Did you taste the bitter side of the world?" to which Kim Ji-hoon replied, "I have matured by tasting the harshness of the world as I aged."

Kim Ji-hoon reflected, "I had a strong image from weekend dramas in the past. I wanted to act in movies or dramas that were not weekend dramas and thought I could do well, but the public didn't see it that way. So, I took about 3 years off from work because that's all that was coming in." He further explained, "The company kept saying, 'We'll look for something, we have this drama, we will try to work on it,' but it was a constant cycle of waiting and being frustrated. Then, at the end, there was one drama that seemed highly likely to happen, and I thought about waiting for that. One day, I woke up and saw a news article that someone else got cast in that drama. I lost it and couldn't take it anymore."

Kim Ji-hoon shared, "Those 3 years of hiatus felt incredibly long for me. All the money I had saved was gone. The biggest problem was the lack of hope regarding when or how things would change. I felt a lot during that time." Additionally, he confessed, "I kept getting sick as well. I experienced headaches like never before. Even a light touch to my head hurt. I thought, 'Is there a tumor in my brain?' And through that, I realized that stress is the biggest enemy to health."

In response to Kim Ji-hoon’s story, Kim Jeong-nan agreed, saying, "The mind governs the body perfectly describes it."

Kim Ji-hoon stated, "Since works were not coming in anyway, I thought I should travel, exercise, read books, and watch many films to spend my time constructively. However, after 6-7 months had passed and I had experiences of disappointments in getting work, I found that when I read books, I couldn't absorb any of the letters. Even when watching movies, I couldn't really register the content. There came a time where I couldn't do anything. So during that time, I ended up playing mobile games," he candidly revealed, bringing laughter.
