Actors Bae Hyun-seung, Cha Gang-yun, and Uhm Ji-won have come together for the TVING original Proxy SAT. The series tells the story of low-income scholarship student Kang Geon-tae (played by Cha Gang-yun), who is forced to take a proxy SAT by the blackmailer Nam Jae-yeop (played by Bae Hyun-seung), who knows his weaknesses. This collaboration is spearheaded by Pyramid Game (2024) PD Park So-yeon and rookie writer Choi Hye-soo.
Ahead of its premiere, the Proxy SAT team officially announced on the 22nd its cast, which includes Bae Hyun-seung, Cha Gang-yun, Park Yoon-ho, Uhm Ji-won, Park Hyuk-kwon, and Baek Ji-won. Although Jae-yeop appears perfect, with a wealthy background, handsome looks, and excellent grades, it is all a façade. As his father's life plans begin to deviate from his own, his inferiority complex toward Geon-tae erupts.
Bae Hyun-seung expressed his anticipation for participating in what he calls "a work that is very interesting and meaningful to think about" as cracks begin to form in Jae-yeop's perfect life. Park Yoon-tae will play Geon-tae's friend, Joo Hee-dong. In addition, Uhm Ji-won, Park Hyuk-kwon, and Baek Ji-won will lend their talents. Uhm Ji-won plays elite mom Sim Kyung-o, who becomes unexpectedly entangled with Geon-tae in a surprising incident. Park Hyuk-kwon and Baek Ji-won portray a couple: Jae-yeop's father and candidate for district mayor, Nam Dong-sik, and his mother, Baek Sun-hee.
Meanwhile, Proxy SAT is scheduled for release next year.
