Actor Seo Kang-joon earned an estimated 2.4 billion won in profit after selling a property located in Seongsu-dong, Seongdong-gu, Seoul.
According to the real estate industry and registration documents on November 14, Seo Kang-joon sold a 140.3㎡ (approximately 42 pyeong) unit in the Trimaje complex for 580 million won in June. He had purchased the property in December 2019 for 339 million won, reflecting an increase of about 241 million won over five years.
At the time of purchase, a bank mortgage with a maximum claim amount of 110 million won was registered under Seo Kang-joon’s name. In 2022, two additional mortgages totaling 36 million won under his agency Man of Creation were added, bringing the combined maximum to 182 million won. Given that the maximum claim amount generally corresponds to about 120 percent of the actual loan, it appears that roughly 150 million won was used as leverage. All mortgages have since been canceled, indicating that the loans have been repaid.
Seo Kang-joon’s connection to Trimaje goes back even further. He first purchased a 136㎡ unit in the same complex for 164.73 million won, lived there for two years, and sold it for 290 million won in December 2019. Soon after, he upgraded to a larger, Han River-facing 140㎡ unit to enjoy a “panoramic view of the Han River.” Although the area faced concerns about high prices and unsold units at the time, it later emerged as part of a “super-rich belt,” causing prices to more than double.
Trimaje is a mixed-use development with 688 units that began occupancy in 2015. It boasts a prime location near both Seoul Forest and the Han River and features high-end amenities such as hotel-style concierge services, a fitness center, saunas, and a breakfast lounge. Notably, Son Heung-min purchased a 140.3㎡ unit for 244.46 million won and later sold it for 550 million won in March this year, contributing to the building’s reputation as a “celebrity home.”
Meanwhile, Seo Kang-joon, who debuted in 2013 as part of the actor group Surprise, rose to fame through his role as Baek In-ho in the tvN drama ‘Cheese in the Trap’. He has since appeared in works such as You Are Human Too?, The Third Charm, Entourage, and Undercover High School. He is currently expected to return in the Netflix series Monthly Boyfriend, scheduled for release in 2026.
