In the wake of a deadly apartment fire in Hong Kong, the “Saja Boys” special stage tied to the Netflix animation K-pop Demon Hunters was canceled from the 2025 MAMA Awards.

On the 29th, KOZ Entertainment announced on its official social media, “Due to the scaled-back operation of the 2025 MAMA Awards, we will not take part in the performance scheduled for today.” The label added, “We ask for the fans’ understanding.”

The “Saja Boys” lineup was set to feature BOYNEXTDOOR’s Leehan, RIIZE’s Wonbin, TWS’s Shin Yu, ZEROBASEONE’s Park Gunwook, and Han Yujin.

The decision comes as the event has been trimmed and reshaped following a large-scale fire disaster in Hong Kong. On December 26 (local time), a major blaze broke out at Wang Fuk Court, an apartment complex in Tai Po in northern Hong Kong, resulting in the loss of 128 lives to date.

At 2025 MAMA Awards Chapter 1 on the 28th, several idols on stage, including host Park Bo-gum, wore mourning ribbons to honor the victims and offer comfort to those affected.
