Comedian Park Na-rae has been hit with legal action by her former managers.
On December 4, Dispatch reported that Park’s ex-managers filed a provisional attachment application with the Seoul Western District Court and signaled a damages suit seeking about 100 million won. They claim they suffered harm while employed and plan to pursue compensation.
According to the former managers, Park engaged in workplace harassment, causing bodily injury, obtaining prescriptions by proxy, and failing to pay work-related expenses. They allege she kept them on call 24/7, sending them on snack runs, making them clean up after parties, pressuring them to attend drinking sessions, and even assigning family chores.
One manager says they were berated for not drinking and were injured by a glass allegedly thrown in anger.
The managers also contend that while handling company business, Park did not properly reimburse personal out-of-pocket costs and delayed settling production and operating expenses. Speaking to the outlet that first broke the story, they said, “If we file the damages lawsuit, Park Na-rae is likely to dispose of or conceal assets,” explaining why they sought provisional attachment.
Park’s agency responded, “We are currently verifying the facts,” and said it would comment through legal counsel.
