AI entertech company Galaxy Corporation has reached a 1 trillion won valuation, officially joining the unicorn club.
Insiders say G-Dragon has been a major driver of the surge. After signing an exclusive deal with Galaxy Corporation in 2023, G-Dragon boosted his global profile through solo activities, including a new album and concerts. Most recently, he took the top honor (Daesang) at the country's biggest music awards, the 2025 MAMA Awards, and kept the momentum going with a world tour.
G-Dragon was also appointed a visiting professor in the Department of Mechanical Engineering at KAIST, signaling his interest in the AI industry. The University of Southern California announced it will launch a for-credit course next spring that spotlights his body of work.
The latest pre-IPO round drew not only major Korean institutions such as Korea Investment & Securities, Shinhan Venture Investment, and Envestor, but also overseas capital, including Taiwan-listed semiconductor company ADATA Technology and Hong Kong–listed StarPlus Legend Holdings. Investors praised Galaxy Corporation for its inventive cross-disciplinary creativity and strong runway for growth.
Galaxy Corporation CEO Choi Yong-ho, born in 1989, now holds the title of youngest chief executive to lead a unicorn company. He recently drew attention as the only representative from an entertech firm to attend the APEC summit's welcome dinner.
The company, founded in 2019 with paid-in capital of 1 million won, has seen its valuation skyrocket since bringing G-Dragon on board.
