Girls' Generation member and actress Sooyoung got candid about romance reality shows — and her blunt take is going viral.
On the December 16 episode of the web variety Salon Drip, Sooyoung and actor Kim Jae-young joined host Jang Do-yeon to chat about their hobbies and current interests. Kicking things off with stocks, Kim admitted, "These days, it's just working out and watching YouTube for me," confessing he doesn't really have a hobby.
Sooyoung then named the romance reality series EXchange as the show she's most into lately. "People kept saying this season was good, so I tried it for the first time — and it was more fun than I expected," she revealed, surprising viewers as a low-key 'EXchange' fan. Kim, however, joked, "I watched a little and gave up. It just made me feel lonelier," cracking everyone up.
Jang recommended I am Solo to Kim, teasing, "It won't exactly warm your heart, but at least it won't make you lonelier." Kim replied, "That feels like my future," adding, "When I watch dating shows, I do think, 'I might be fun if I went on,' but because of my age, I feel like I can only go on I am Solo." He continued, "And the more I watch, the more I think, 'Isn't that basically me?' — which just makes me even more down."
Jang asked Sooyoung if she would consider appearing on EXchange if the show reached out. Without missing a beat, Sooyoung drew a firm line: "I wouldn't go. Why would I?" Given that she has been publicly dating actor Jung Kyung-ho since 2012, her one-liner landed with extra weight.
Meanwhile, Sooyoung and Kim Jae-young are set to co-star in the ENA drama I Dol I, premiering on the 22nd.
