It has already been eight years since the late SHINee member Jonghyun passed away.

On December 18, 2017, Jonghyun was found in cardiac arrest at a residence in Cheongdam-dong, Gangnam, Seoul, and passed away at the age of 27.

Debuting with SHINee in 2008, Jonghyun shot to fame with a string of hits including “Replay,” “Love Like Oxygen,” “Juliette,” “Lucifer,” and “Dream Girl.” In 2015, he also debuted as a solo artist, releasing “Deja-Boo” and “Crazy (Guilty Pleasure),” earning recognition as a singer-songwriter.

He was also an exceptional lyricist and composer. Jonghyun took part in creating SHINee’s “Juliette,” IU’s “Gloomy Clock,” Taemin’s “Pretty Boy,” EXO’s “Playboy,” and Lee Hi’s “Breathe,” showcasing his artistry.

SHINee's members have continued to mourn him every year on his death anniversary and birthday, openly sharing how much they miss him. In May, they commemorated SHINee's 17th debut anniversary by releasing the single “Poet | Artist,” which Jonghyun wrote and composed while he was alive.

On the 8th anniversary, the group's official social media posted a tribute reading, “We will always love you.” Member Minho reshared it and added, “I’ll always love you, hyung,” expressing his longing.
