Actor Ryu Si-won's wife — 19 years his junior — made her first-ever appearance on TV, instantly becoming a hot topic.
The recent episode of TV CHOSUN's variety show Joseon-ui Sarangkkun featured the wedding of comedian Yoon Jung-soo and TV personality–Pilates instructor Won Jin-seo. Ryu Si-won attended the ceremony with his wife as guests.
While warmly congratulating his close friend Yoon Jung-soo, Ryu kept things friendly and casual. In the process, his wife shyly stepped back, looking a bit bashful. When Yoon called out, "Sister-in-law, where are you going?", Ryu's wife carefully approached and greeted him — marking her first on-air appearance.
Ryu's wife drew attention with her pure, youthful aura and fresh-faced beauty. Panelist Hwang Bo-ra, watching the VCR, couldn't hold back her reaction, saying, "Why is she so pretty?" Yoon Jung-soo also joked, "She looks like that, and she's a math teacher," sending the venue into laughter.
Congratulating Yoon on his marriage, Ryu joked, "I never thought Jung-soo would actually get married." He added, "I hope the two of you stay happy for a long, long time," creating a warm atmosphere.
Previously, on SBS's variety show Sinbal Beotgo Dolsing Pomaen, Ryu opened up about how he first met his wife and their dating story. He shared that he first saw her at a dinner with acquaintances and "knew at first sight she was my ideal type." However, because he was divorced and already had a daughter at the time, he admitted, "About 10 months into dating, a wave of fear hit me, and we broke up."
Ryu Si-won debuted in 1994 as a special recruit actor at KBS. He married a non-celebrity woman in 2010 and welcomed his first daughter, but they divorced in 2015. In 2020, he remarried his current wife, and last December, they welcomed their second daughter.
