Actor Kwon Hyun Bin has been officially selected for the Marine Corps Reconnaissance specialty and is beginning full military service.

According to his agency Ghost Studio on the 31st, Kwon Hyun Bin completed the Marine Recon application and selection process and received final classification as Recon. After enlisting last month at the Marine Corps Education and Training Group, he applied for Recon, took the selection exam, and earned a spot with excellent scores.

The Marine Special Reconnaissance Brigade, where Kwon will be assigned, is a special unit directly under Marine Corps Command. It leads amphibious operations, carrying out high‑risk missions such as reconnaissance and infiltration. Because it demands exceptional physical stamina and mental toughness, his acceptance is seen as especially significant.

Kwon previously completed six weeks of basic Marine training with excellent results. He will undergo an additional 11 weeks of specialized Recon training before serving formally as a Marine reconnaissance operator.

Through his agency, Kwon said, "It is an honor to serve as a member of the Republic of Korea Marine Corps. I will do my utmost to fulfill my duty of national defense during the time given to me." He added, "Thank you to the fans who have supported me. I will complete my service in good health and return even more mature."

Kwon Hyun Bin, who debuted in 2017 with the group JBJ, plans to continue his acting career after faithfully completing his military service.
