Actor Park Jinyoung opened up about the hilarious memories he shared with his GOT7 members during their group promotions.
On March 10, the web variety show Salon Drip featured Park Jinyoung and Kim Minju, stars of the JTBC drama The Shining, as guests, where they chatted about a range of topics.
Kim Minju revealed she still maintains a tight bond with her former IZ*ONE teammates Kwon Eunbi, Choi Yena, and Kim Chaewon. Host Jang Do-yeon then asked Park, "Do you still keep in touch with the GOT7 members often?" Park replied, "We do have a group chat, but we don't message that often," adding, "Even if we don't talk a lot, it feels like family. We just check in on each other from time to time."
He went on to reveal the group's "intense friendship." When Jang commented, "I heard GOT7 fought a lot, like Shinhwa or Super Junior," Park candidly admitted, "We really fought a lot."
Park explained that fights often started over choreography. "There are moves where you nudge each other. It starts as a joke. But the person who gets hit gets upset and goes a bit harder, then the other person goes even harder, and before you know it, it turns into a fight," he recalled.
He also shared a backstage story from a broadcast station that had everyone cracking up. When Jang asked, "I heard you grabbed each other by the collar in the station bathroom and then acted friendly the moment it was time to go on stage," Park burst into laughter and said, "That's true. We even fought in the bathroom." He continued, "We'd be in the middle of a blowup, then someone would say, 'It's time to go on stage,' and we'd instantly change our expressions and head up smiling," reenacting the scene and sending the studio into laughter.
Still, the conflicts never lasted long. Park said, "Give it about an hour and it would just blow over. We'd be angry, then share a meal and laugh, and it would be fine in no time." He added, "Clashing that much actually brought us closer. Now it really feels like family, and there's hardly anything to fight about anymore."
