Influencer Freezia, who appeared on the Netflix dating reality show Single's Inferno, is at the center of an online controversy after commenting on her personal preference for smartphone brands.
Recently, Freezia uploaded a vlog to her YouTube channel. Introducing subscriber questions in the video, she brought up smartphones. "Subscribers asked, 'What do you think if your boyfriend uses a Galaxy?'" she said. "To be honest, if my boyfriend used a Galaxy, I'd kind of hate it." She added, "My parents also use Galaxy," but continued, "Parents and a boyfriend are different, right?"
Freezia specifically cited reasons related to taking photos. "If I imagine them taking pictures of me with that phone, it would really annoy me," she said, adding, "The vibe of Galaxy photos and iPhone photos is different." She also joked, "When my dad takes pictures, don't the proportions make me look like I'm three-heads-tall?" She went on, "I barely even touch Galaxy phones," and concluded, "The only people I can tolerate using a Galaxy are my parents."
After the video was released, reactions online were mixed. Some argued, "Personal preferences about smartphones are fine, but her phrasing was too much," "Plenty of people actually prefer Galaxy cameras," and "She probably couldn't even tell apart iPhone and Galaxy photos anyway." Others defended her, saying, "She just stated her preference—people are overreacting."
Freezia gained mainstream recognition after appearing on the Netflix dating show Single's Inferno. She became popular for her glamorous style and luxury lifestyle content, but she also faced controversy when some designer items featured on her YouTube channel were found to be counterfeit. She later apologized and took time away from the spotlight.
