SBS’s dating reality Match to Marry: With Parents (hereafter Match to Marry) shocked viewers as Season 1’s final couple, Jang Min-cheol and Kim Jin-joo, revealed they are now preparing to get married.

On the 11th, a teaser recruiting participants for Match to Marry Season 2 dropped on SBS’s official YouTube channel. In the clip, the Season 1 duo appeared to share an update: “We became the final couple through the program and have continued our relationship after the show. We’re currently preparing for marriage.”

Looking back on her time on the show, Kim Jin-joo admitted, “At first, I honestly wondered if this could really lead all the way to marriage.” She added, “As filming went on and we spent time with our mothers, conversations about the future came up naturally, and marriage became a realistic choice.”

Both mothers are warmly supporting the relationship. Kim’s mother said, “Through filming, I got to see a new side of my daughter, and I felt she is now at the age to get married,” cheering on the couple’s journey.

Jang’s mother also reacted positively to the format, saying, “Rather than pressuring our children by asking why they aren’t getting married, helping them find a connection naturally through a program like this seems like a good approach.” The four then encouraged viewers to apply for Match to Marry Season 2.

Born in 1991, Jang Min-cheol graduated from Seoul National University with a degree in economics and is currently active as a freelance show host. Born in 1997, Kim Jin-joo works at a construction company.

Meanwhile, Match to Marry follows marriage-minded singles and their mothers who live together for five nights and six days as the moms observe the dating process. Season 1 produced two final couples, and producers are now recruiting participants for Season 2.
