Webtoon-artist-turned TV star Kian84 revealed his surprising connection to actress Ha Ji-won — and Suwon locals can’t stop talking about it.
On the 11th, Kian84’s YouTube channel uploaded a video featuring Ha Ji-won. Before the main shoot, Kian84 said, "I’m here to meet another leading actress today," adding, "I might not have known it back then, but she was incredibly famous in Suwon." Thinking back to his school days, he added, "In middle school, my friends would always say, 'Ha Ji-won goes to Yeongshin Girls’ High School.'"
Kian84 recalled that Ha Ji-won’s presence in Suwon was massive. "It felt like everyone’s social network in Suwon connected around Ha Ji-won," he said. "Like 'a friend’s friend’s older sister' — within three degrees, four at most, everyone seemed linked to her."
The two also met up in Suwon. "Since we first got to know each other through Suwon, I suggested we meet here," Kian84 said. "We decided to hike Gwanggyosan and grab a meal together." When Ha Ji-won arrived, Kian84, looking a bit shy, greeted her: "I can’t believe I’m actually meeting you in real life." He then asked, "You look much slimmer than on TV. Did you lose a lot of weight?"
Ha Ji-won explained the change: "I shaped my body to fit a new project I’m preparing." She added, "The character is quite high-strung, which is a little different from my real personality."
