To celebrate surpassing 10 million admissions, director Jang Hang-jun hosted a coffee truck event for moviegoers and expressed his gratitude for The King's Warden.
On the afternoon of the 12th, the coffee truck event took place at the Seoul Shinmun Square in Jung-gu, Seoul. Director Jang attended in person, and the massive turnout made the film’s runaway success feel real.
Jang personally handed out cups of coffee, saying, "As of the 11th, the film 'The King's Warden' has surpassed 12 million admissions. We could only receive this much love thanks to our audience. Thank you from the bottom of my heart."
Meanwhile, 'The King's Warden' is a fact-meets-fiction historical drama set in the village of Cheongnyeongpo in 1457, following village head Eom Heung-do, who voluntarily chooses exile, and the young, deposed former king Danjong, Lee Hong-wi (played by Park Ji-hoon).
