Singer and entertainer Haha opened up about the emotional reason he decided to quit smoking for his youngest daughter.

On the March 15 episode of the web variety show Jodongari, Haha joined Kim Yong-man, Ji Suk-jin, and Kim Soo-yong for a candid chat. When the conversation turned to Kim Soo-yong—who is recovering after a recent acute myocardial infarction—Haha remarked, "After you quit drinking and smoking, your complexion definitely changed," expressing his surprise.

As they kept talking, the topic shifted to smoking, and Haha revealed he successfully quit a few years ago. "It’s been about four years since I stopped smoking," he said. "I decided to quit when my youngest daughter, Song-i, was sick." He continued, "I felt like it would be shameless before God to keep everything I liked. I thought I should at least give up one thing, so I quit cigarettes."

He added, "I’ve stayed completely away from it because I was afraid that if I started smoking again, my daughter might get sick again," underscoring his deep love for her.

Meanwhile, Haha married singer Byul in 2012, and they have two sons and one daughter. Their youngest, Song-i, was previously diagnosed with Guillain–Barré syndrome, a rare neurological disorder, but later made a full recovery and received an outpouring of support.
