Actor Lee Dong-hwi broke his silence on the controversy surrounding Song Mino's surprise appearance at the Method acting screening.

In an interview for Method acting held at a cafe on Samcheong-ro in Jongno-gu, Seoul, on the 16th, Lee was asked how Song Mino ended up at the recent screening. Lee said, "I didn't invite him myself. I only found out on site as well," choosing his words carefully.

On March 13, at the Megabox COEX VIP screening for Method acting, Song Mino—who had largely stayed out of the public eye for a long period—made a rare appearance, drawing attention. Some online communities speculated that Lee Dong-hwi, known to be close with Song, had invited him, but Lee effectively denied the rumor.

Song Mino served as a social service worker from March 2023 to December 2024 as an alternative to active-duty service, but allegations of workplace neglect sparked major controversy. Prosecutors later indicted him without detention for violating the Military Service Act, and his related trial is scheduled for April 21.

Meanwhile, Method acting is a project that Lee Dong-hwi planned, produced, and stars in. He plays a character using his real name, unfolding a unique meta concept where the real Lee Dong-hwi, the actor Lee Dong-hwi, and the character intersect. The film opens on the 18th.
