Actor Lee Ki-taek has been swept up in an unexpected scandal.
In episode 6 of JTBC’s Saturday-Sunday drama Efficient Matchmaking for Unmarried Men and Women (hereafter 'Efficient Matchmaking'), which aired on the 15th, Ji-soo (Lee Ki-taek) — who had been building a flirty pink vibe with Ui-young (Han Ji-min) — suddenly found himself at the center of a scandal, pushing the story into a brand-new phase.
Ji-soo dialed his attitude 180 degrees between Ui-young and Tae-seop (Park Sung-hoon), adding fun to each scene with sharp shifts in his gaze and tone. When Ui-young and Tae-seop got drunk and collapsed on the street, Ji-soo escorted them to a hotel; when a tipsy Ui-young hugged him, he felt an unfamiliar flutter in his chest. Unable to leave the two behind, Ji-soo stayed up all night worrying, then sparked laughs the next day with a childish war of nerves against Tae-seop.

We’re getting closer, and I’ve had fun from the start till now — haven’t you?", Ji-soo kept eyes glued to the screen with surprise flirting, even wiping sauce from the corner of Ui-young’s lips during a late-night snack date. But an unforeseen crisis struck. Top star Jung-ah (Moon Jung-hee), who recently made headlines with a viral 'blind-item scandal,' sent Ji-soo a flower basket — which Ui-young ended up delivering — and cracks began to form between the two. A reporter then suspected Ji-soo of being Jung-ah’s sponsor partner, and when he realized Jung-ah had been the reason he landed a performance slot, he finally declared he would quit the troupe, cranking up the tension.
