A police crackdown on so-called cutting in has ignited a heated debate. On March 17, the YouTube channel '한문철TV' posted a video titled "26686회. 신호 따라서 비어있는 좌회전 2차로로 정상적으로 좌회전했는데, 끼어들기 위반으로 잡은 경찰! 이게 맞습니까?"

The footage shows a dashcam car in Busan changing from the third lane to the second, then attempting a left turn on a yellow light, only to be stopped by police for violating the no cutting-in rule. The driver challenged the officer’s decision and requested a summary trial, but said the request was dismissed.

With many netizens questioning the standards behind the enforcement, a range of opinions has surfaced. One commenter asked, "If the second lane was empty and they moved in, does that really count as cutting in?" Another wondered, "If this goes to the prosecution, could it be cleared?"
