The drama that sparked the 'New Recruit' syndrome is coming back with even bigger laughs and painfully relatable moments.
On the 19th, ENA confirmed production for the fourth season of New Recruit and kicked off full-scale filming for its new Monday–Tuesday drama.
Born from the mega-hit animation of the same name, New Recruit is a hyper-realistic military comedy that follows a well-connected "silver-spoon" recruit who enlists in a unit packed with every type of soldier—from the good to the bad to the downright weird.
In New Recruit 4: Sabotage (hereafter 'New Recruit 4'), Park Min-seok (played by Kim Min-ho) hits corporal and stumbles into a whirlwind of second-half barracks life. Just when he thought making corporal would be the finish line, a mysterious new recruit and the battalion commander appear, igniting a turbulent second act. Adding to the hype, Choi Il-gu (Nam Tae-woo)—who left the unit in tears last season—returns as an NCO, while Moon Bit-nari (Kim Yo-han) welcomes an ace junior to the squad, setting the stage for fresh 'New Recruit' chaos.
Original cast members Kim Min-ho, Kim Dong-jun, Oh Dae-hwan, Nam Tae-woo, Lee Sang-jin, Cho Jin-se, Lee Chung-gu, Jeon Seung-hoon, Kim Yo-han, and Lee Soo-ji are all back, promising upgraded character play. New additions Lee Hyun-gyun and Lee Won-jung are also drawing attention for their upcoming roles.
'New Recruit 4' is slated to air in the second half of 2026 and will be available via KT Genie TV.
