Actor Choi Won-young is set to shake up prime time as a cold-blooded CEO in JTBC’s new weekend drama.
On the 20th, the team behind JTBC’s new Sat–Sun series We Are All Trying Here (hereafter 'We Are All Trying Here') dropped striking stills of Go Youn-jung and Choi Won-young.
The photos capture Choi Dong-hyun (Choi Won-young) summoning Byeon Eun-a (Go Youn-jung) to the CEO’s office and unloading cutting remarks, exuding an icy aura. Byeon Eun-a’s visibly shaken expression hints at a razor-wire tension between the two.
In the story, Byeon Eun-a is a self-made talent who joined film company Choi Film as a temporary admin after high school and climbed all the way to a full-time PD. Known for her fresh, rule-defying perspective, she earned the nickname the 'script-slaying axe' for her razor-sharp notes—directors once lined up to hand her scripts without even going through the CEO. But that singular talent becomes a double-edged sword. Feeling threatened by Eun-a’s growing influence, CEO Choi Dong-hyun launches a stealthy campaign of criticism and control.
The production team teased, "Choi Dong-hyun is a character who lays bare his desires and values, delivering a strangely satisfying thrill. The chilling CEO perfected by Choi Won-young—and Byeon Eun-a’s resolve to protect her worth under that pressure—will deliver a tightly wound push-and-pull that drives the drama’s tension."
Meanwhile, 'We Are All Trying Here' follows a person tormented by envy and insecurity after failing to keep up with their brilliant friends, and their journey toward peace. The series premieres April 18 at 10:40 p.m.
