Actor Jung Woo is parting ways with BH Entertainment and making a fresh start.
On the 31st, BH Entertainment announced, "Our exclusive contract with Jung Woo has ended," adding, "The time we spent together was a meaningful journey for both of us." The agency continued, "We will continue to give our full support until his first directorial film Crayon Shin-chan meets audiences," signaling plans to stand by him to the very end.
Jung Woo also expressed gratitude to the agency that has been with him for years, and it is known that the two sides amicably wrapped up their relationship while cheering each other on.
Jung Woo first drew public attention in 2009 with a powerful turn as the character Jjang-gu in the film Wish. He later gained massive popularity playing Trash in tvN’s 2013 drama Reply 1994.
Since then, he has showcased a wide acting spectrum through projects like C'est si bon, The Himalayas, and Best Friend.
With the end of this contract, Jung Woo is taking on a new challenge as a director as well as an actor. The film Crayon Shin-chan, which he both stars in and directs, is slated to hit theaters on April 24.
All eyes are on what Jung Woo—who has cemented his standing as a leading actor—will deliver in the new arena of directing.
