Singer Byul sparked buzz with a candid revelation about her education and college years.

On April 2, Byul uploaded a video on her YouTube channel showing her visiting Daehak-ro with actor Kim Ye-rang. The two reminisced about their school days. Kim Ye-rang mentioned notable classmates from Chung-Ang University’s Department of Theater and Film, including Hyun Bin, Jung Tae-woo, and Hong Kwang-ho, drawing attention.

Byul, an alum of Dongduk Women’s University’s Applied Music program, looked back on her campus life. "Our Applied Music campus was in Daehak-ro, so I went to school here," she recalled. "I was about to debut at the time, so I quietly attended classes and kept a low profile."

She then addressed her academic background head-on: "I didn’t graduate. I want to be clear so people don’t misunderstand and think I faked my credentials." She added, "I was dropped from the program due to insufficient attendance. My highest level of education is high school."

Byul further explained, "I didn’t get in through a special admission. I took both the CSAT and the performance test to enroll," adding, "Even though I didn’t graduate, I still remember studying and performing at school."

Byul debuted in 2002 with her first album, '10월 10일.' In 2012, she married singer and TV personality Haha, and they have two sons and a daughter.
