Comedian Shin Dong-yup opened up about reuniting with his former girlfriend, model Lee Sora.
On the April 6 broadcast of the SBS variety show Unbelievable, Shin appeared as a guest and chatted with Kai, Lee Soo Ji, Tak Jae Hoon, and Lee Sang Min. On air, he naturally brought up his past public relationship with Lee Sora and kept a calm attitude. Shin said, "My life before meeting my wife is still part of my life," adding, "I think of that time as just another page." He continued, "There’s no need to tear that page out. You can just turn it naturally."
The two began publicly dating in 1997 and broke up in 2001. After many years, they briefly reunited in 2023 for a YouTube project. At the time, Shin drew a clear line, saying, "It was the first time we’d seen each other again in over 20 years since the breakup."
When Tak Jae Hoon asked, "So could you ever open that page again?" Shin answered, "No." He emphasized, "It’s simply time that has passed."
The family’s reaction also drew attention. Shin shared, "My wife actually liked Lee Sora," and "She even cheered on the reunion broadcast." He added, "Since it was something the kids would naturally come to know, my wife explained it to them first," candidly sharing a family story.
Meanwhile, Lee Sora is gearing up for the release of MBC’s new variety show Sora and Jinkyung, which follows her challenging the runway alongside fellow model Hong Jin-kyung.
