MBC’s new variety Choeusu-san is coming to living rooms with a fresh twist. Yoo Se-yoon, Jang Dong-min, Boom, Yang Se-hyung, and Heo Kyung-hwan — five top-tier variety stars — take on a mountain-set challenge show.

Premiering May 3 at 6 p.m., Choeusu-san is, as the name hints, a mission-driven variety staged entirely in the mountains. The cast members, who previously competed for the Best Excellence Award at the 2025 MBC Entertainment Awards, now team up as one, locking in the show’s concept. Their blend of head-to-head rivalry and teamwork in the wild will be the key draw.

The newly revealed posters turn heads, too. Dressed in formalwear straight out of an awards ceremony, the members signal a completely different vibe from typical hiking shows. Yoo Se-yoon stands center with a trophy in hand, spotlighting the “Best Excellence” theme.

Another poster frames the five like a single family. The oddly awkward yet familiar composition evokes a classic family portrait, adding laughs. Even as simple concept images, each member’s personality shines through — and the anticipation is real.

This isn’t just hiking. The cast tackles diverse missions that test stamina, quick thinking, and on-camera wit all at once. Blending talk, situational skits, and competitive elements, the format promises a fresh spin on outdoor variety.

Heo Kyung-hwan also joins as the show’s “catfish” — a designated disruptor who shakes up the game. In a pre-meeting clip with the producers, he shared candid expectations about the lineup, dialing up curiosity for what’s to come.

With the production teams behind Radio Star and Adventure by Accident on board, Choeusu-san aims to hook viewers with raw laughs unfolding within the mountain’s tight confines.
