Tributes from fellow actors continue to pour in for the late Song Young-kyu.
On the 5th, actor Ryu Seung-su posted a photo taken with Song Young-kyu on his Instagram. He wrote, "Hyung, you’ve worked hard all this time. Now, rest in peace," honoring the deceased.
Actor Jung Tae-woo also shared a photo of Song Young-kyu’s mortuary on the same day. He expressed his sorrow, saying, "My beloved Young-kyu. You expressed love so many times, Young-kyu."
Actor Lee Jae-yong shared a photo of himself praying for Song Young-kyu's peace. He recalled, "To earn the trust of a fellow actor during performances indicates the arduous journey he must have taken to reach such a level. He was a great actor who gave confidence. He was a beloved junior because I saw a bright future ahead for him."
Actor Lee Jong-hyuk, a fellow alumnus from Seoul Institute of the Arts, said, "It’s so disappointing. Did you hate this world so much? I’m disappointed because you were weak. You used to treat me well, so rest in peace."
Earlier, Song Young-kyu was found dead in a parked car in a residential area in Cheoin-gu, Yongin, around 8 AM on the 4th. According to police reports, there were no signs of foul play or a suicide note.
Debuting in 1994 through the children’s musical 'Mutter Dosa,' Song gained attention for his role as Captain Choi in the hit film 'Extreme Job,' which attracted over ten million viewers. This year, he appeared in dramas 'My Perfect Secretary', 'The Last Resort', and 'Lawyer Noh Mu-jin', as well as being featured in ENA's 'I Shopping' and SBS's 'Try: We Become a Miracle.'
It has recently come to light that Song Young-kyu was caught drink driving in June, around 5 kilometers in Yongin, which led to his departure from the play 'Shakespeare in Love.'
