Explosive reactions are pouring in over BTS’s Gwanghwamun concert.

On the 23rd, on KBS CoolFM Park Myung-soo's Radio Show, DJ Park Myung-soo heaped praise on BTS’s Gwanghwamun performance, instantly becoming a hot topic. Introducing a listener’s message that read, "Entertainers permitted by Gwanghwamun: BTS, and Park Myung-soo (PMS)," Park brought up BTS’s show.

Earlier, to celebrate the release of BTS’s fifth full-length album, the group held a free event titled 'BTS Comeback Live: Arirang' at Gwanghwamun Square. For safety, approximately 15,000 personnel from the police, fire authorities, and public offices were deployed. Metal detectors were installed to block hazardous items, and a police special ops unit was stationed. Access to 31 nearby buildings was restricted, and traffic control was tightened, causing inconvenience for residents and commuters around Gwanghwamun.

Park Myung-soo stressed the show’s significance, saying, "How much did (the BTS Gwanghwamun concert) elevate national prestige? Korea’s Gwanghwamun is being broadcast to 196 countries worldwide — you can’t put a price on that. Only BTS could pull this off. I believe everyone congratulated them."

However, the late Sulli’s older brother drew attention by posting on his social media, seemingly critical of the event: "If you can’t bring happiness, you shouldn’t bring misery either. It’s not like there aren’t other places to perform. I wish you the best. BTS."

One performance, two extremes — the controversy is escalating. Global K-pop fans around the world zeroed in on BTS’s Gwanghwamun show.
