JYP Entertainment has launched a firm legal response against malicious rumors and defamation targeting Stray Kids.
On December 27, JYP posted a notice on its official channels titled “Update on Legal Action Regarding Infringement of Artists’ Rights,” stating, “To protect Stray Kids, we are taking strong legal action against the spread of false information, malicious slander, and other violations of basic rights.”
The agency explained that it continuously monitors domestic and overseas online communities and social media through a professional monitoring firm. Evidence of false claims, mockery, and defamatory posts is being collected, and criminal complaints are being filed on an ongoing basis.
JYP added, “Investigative authorities have obtained warrants, identified suspects, and are currently conducting investigations.” The company also confirmed that it is working with courts in Korea and abroad to identify malicious posters on overseas platforms.
“We will continue cooperating closely with investigators and courts to ensure strict punishment,” the agency stressed, adding, “There will be no leniency or settlements at any stage.”
JYP also thanked Stray Kids’ fandom STAY and encouraged fans to submit tips if they encounter illegal activity online.
