The tech YouTube channel 'ITSub' analyzed smartphone trends based on a report from the Korea Gallup Research Institute.
The annual smartphone usage statistics released in Korea attract considerable consumer attention. This year, particularly notable is the difference and fluctuation in user demographics between Samsung Galaxy and Apple iPhone. According to the survey, the usage rate of Galaxy has increased among those in their 20s, while the usage rate of iPhone has risen among those in their 40s. The increase in iPhone usage among the 40s demographic is especially unexpected.
There are many opinions regarding this trend. Some analysts suggest that the younger generation is more attracted to Galaxy's AI features and pricing, leading to more choices for them. The increase in iPhone usage among the 40s group is attributed to the screen time function for children and the need to take pictures of their children.
At the bottom of the video, a variety of comments from viewers ensued. One user commented, "People in their 40s start using iPhones they receive from their children. At least in my circle, that’s the case," while another viewer noted, "I switched from iPhone to Galaxy and the AI is a whole new world," pointing out the functional differences.
