The domestic professional League of Legends (LoL) finals will be broadcasted live on a major terrestrial TV channel in Korea this September. It is noteworthy that this will be the first time in Korean esports history that a major terrestrial channel broadcasts the LoL league finals in full.

According to the broadcasting and esports industry on the 13th, the League of Legends Champions Korea (LCK) recently signed a broadcasting rights contract with MBC for the 2025 LCK playoffs finals. Accordingly, MBC will air all matches live for the playoffs final qualifiers and the final on September 27 and 28.

The most recent terrestrial broadcast of LoL was during the 2018 Jakarta-Palembang Asian Games, when LoL was included as a demonstration event, broadcasted by KBS and SBS. This live broadcast news comes seven years after that. Particularly, while the previous event was an Asian Games, this time it is a regular professional league final, which heightens the excitement for gaming fans.

Meanwhile, starting in 2025, the LCK will operate under a single split system, with the regular season ending on the 31st. Afterwards, teams qualifying for the main playoffs will be determined through the 'Play-In Stage' starting on September 3. The final will be held at the Inspire Arena located in Yeongjong-do, Incheon, with the arena's operator, Inspire Resort, participating as an official sponsor for this tournament.
