NewJeans' Harin Opens Up About Negative Comments: 'No Criticism or Exposé'

Japanese model Harin (real name Harada Rin) recently expressed her thoughts regarding the heightened attention she has been receiving.

On the 14th, Harin started a lengthy post in her YouTube community stating, "I am grateful to receive sudden attention, but I am also a bit worried these days."

She emphasized, "The comments I made in an interview relate to very personal feelings of frustration and disappointment from my past, and I do not intend to criticize or expose any specific company or individual." She added, "While it was undoubtedly a tough time for me, it was also a grateful opportunity and period that has made me stronger, and I still support the members with whom I laughed and cried during that time."

Previously, on the 12th of last month, Harin appeared on a YouTube channel run by Japanese actor Takeda Hiromitsu and shared various stories related to her life in Korea.

During this process, she revealed that she was a former K-pop trainee. Born in 2003, Harin passed the audition for Source Music under HYBE in 2020; afterward, she transferred to ADOR and was active as a member of the NewJeans debut team. Harin reminisced, "Right before my debut, due to a sudden decision by the company, I had to give up my dream of becoming an idol," recounting her past. She said, "One day, out of the blue, they told me to terminate the contract, and I was the only one who received the notice to 'leave,' leading me to board a flight back home immediately."

Following Harin's remarks, some netizens commented that she was "careless," leading her to eventually release a statement.
