Megabox announced the theatrical release of Bong Joon-ho's early work 'Incoherence' as part of its launch of the short film brand 'Short Film'.
The launch of Megabox’s short film brand is an attempt to introduce various unique works that can be exclusively seen at Megabox under the new brand 'Short Film'. This brand is a sub-brand of Mega Only (MEGA ONLY) and aims to select one work each month, including early works of renowned directors, award-winning films, and original short films by emerging directors, for exclusive theatrical release.
With great anticipation from film fans, Megabox's first screening under its short film brand will be Bong Joon-ho's graduation work from the Korea Academy of Film Arts (KAFA) 11th class, 'Incoherence', which will be exclusively released on the 27th at Megabox.
The anthology-style short film 'Incoherence' cleverly satirizes the hypocrisy and true nature of the social elite with sharp humor and a runtime of 30 minutes.
Starting with 'Incoherence', Megabox will partner with the short and independent film distributor 'Indistory Co., Ltd.' and 'KAFA' to showcase a variety of short films, and is pushing for a super-scaled 4K release in collaboration with 'Inshots Co., Ltd.', which has AI upscaling solution technology. Kim Joo-hong, the content planning team leader at Megabox, stated, "We are preparing a diverse lineup of short films, from masterpiece shorts we have only heard of through rumors to works by new directors that will bring fresh winds to the film industry. We hope 'Short Film' will shine a light on new creators and contribute to the diversity of theatrical content."
