Comedian Kim Byeong-man, who is set to remarry, has opened up about his former spouse and the property dispute surrounding their separation.

On the 8th, during an interview with Woman Sense, Kim Byeong-man's ex-wife, referred to as A, said the reason for speaking out was, "I fainted out of frustration after seeing Kim Byeong-man on a broadcast in 2024 say, 'I wanted a child, but my ex-wife refused and ignored my divorce requests for nine years.'"

Regarding allegations that she embezzled 670 million won ($500,000) from Kim Byeong-man's assets, A claimed, "It was intended for purchasing a house, and I had his consent." She also refuted the claim of signing up for 24 life insurance policies without Kim's knowledge, explaining that they were general insurances and not life insurance, stating, "There were only four life insurance policies." A added that she designated her daughter as a beneficiary for tax-saving purposes.

A asserted, "I am not someone who secretly took Kim Byeong-man's money and signed up for insurance with my life as collateral. I never refused to get pregnant. I tried to conceive for over seven years with in vitro fertilization and even took a leave from work. After that, I reached menopause and became unable to conceive."

Previously, A married Kim Byeong-man in 2010. At the time, it was Kim's first marriage, and A had a nine-year-old daughter from her previous marriage. After their marriage, Kim adopted A's daughter as his own, but in 2023, after finalizing the divorce with A, he sought to un-adopt her. The application to un-adopt was granted in August after two rejections, finalizing their legal parent-child relationship.

Recently on the TV Chosun show 'Lover of Joseon', Kim Byeong-man spoke about A, saying, "My in-laws demanded all financial rights and even had my certified digital certificate and identification card. The only thing I had access to was the payment account for my appearance fees." He continued, "The other accounts didn't show up on my phone, so I was unaware. It was my account, but I didn't know the password. It had been changed." Additionally, he claimed, "I reported the loss of the account to recover it. I used a check card, and I often heard comments like, 'You’ve exceeded your limit.' There, my ex-wife used cards with limits of 20 to 30 million won, withdrawing cash every month."

Moreover, Kim Byeong-man revealed, "In 2017, when I was hospitalized in a U.S. hospital due to a spinal injury, typically the wife would come visit. But she didn't come." He also added, "At that time, while I was dealing with the possibility of becoming a disabled person, my ex-wife signed me up for life insurance. If something had gone wrong with me, she would have profited immensely. This isn’t just a story for 'Lover of Joseon'; it should be featured in a documentary about incidents. That’s the situation now."

Meanwhile, Kim Byeong-man has registered his marriage with a non-celebrity woman and has two children. He is set to hold his wedding on the 20th at the Sebit Island in the Han River, Seoul.
