The late Daedo Library (real name Na Dong-hyeon), who gained fame as a first-generation content creator, unexpectedly passed away last weekend, and his ex-wife Yumdaeng (real name Lee Chae-won) has shared her thoughts on the matter.
On the 10th, Yumdaeng posted a lengthy message on her YouTube channel, starting with, "I express my deepest condolences to fans who have been shocked and heartbroken by this sudden news." She reminisced, stating, "Daedo Library has left us, but the laughter and warmth he left will forever remain in our memories." She mentioned her husband fondly. Yumdaeng continued, "However, there are stories circulating about me and Daedo Library that are not true. In hopes that no further misunderstandings will cause pain, I would like to clarify a few things."
Yumdaeng mentioned, "The exact cause of Daedo's death is a brain hemorrhage," confirming the cause of death. She explained, "We even conducted an autopsy to ensure there were no suspicions; it was ultimately confirmed that the cause was a brain hemorrhage." She added, "Recently, he mentioned that his blood pressure was a bit high and that he needed to take medication, but he had not shown any significant issues during regular check-ups or two years ago, so he did not undergo an MRA and thus could not discover any issues."
Yumdaeng also addressed rumors about her ex-husband, saying, "Daedo Library's father passed away from liver cirrhosis, not a myocardial infarction," and emphasized that "the idea that there is a hereditary heart disease in Daedo Library's family is completely false."
Furthermore, regarding her being listed as the chief mourner, Yumdaeng stated, "It was requested by his younger sister," and added, "It breaks my heart to hear that I did this for money. We shared time together, and isn’t it natural to accompany him on his last journey? I hope people won’t think too bleakly of this decision."
Finally, Yumdaeng expressed, "This sudden farewell is hard to believe, but Daedo Library left happily surrounded by family, friends, and fans. Let’s cherish only the good memories together."
Daedo Library was found dead at his home in Gwangjin-gu, Seoul, around 8:40 AM on the 6th. Police reported that he had not appeared at a scheduled time, and upon arrival at the residence, he was already deceased. No suicide note was found at the scene.
The late Daedo Library's funeral was held at the Konkuk University Hospital funeral hall in Gwangjin-gu, Seoul, on the 9th. During the funeral, Yumdaeng, along with her son, received guests at the wake.
