Comedian Kim Gook-jin has embarked on his first digital challenge as he holds his very first smartphone.
On the 29th, Kim Gook-jin uploaded a video on his YouTube channel documenting his journey into the world of smartphones. In the video, fellow comedian and writer Lee Chan introduces the basics of smartphone usage to Kim Gook-jin.
When Lee Chan asked Kim Gook-jin if he felt any fear of the digital world, Kim Gook-jin candidly replied, "A bit, yes." Lee Chan then reassured him, saying, "It’s not that difficult," in an attempt to ease his tension. Lee Chan further inquired, "I’m curious whether you belong to the digital alienation group like our generation's parents or if you have alienated yourself from it," to which Kim Gook-jin humorously responded, "It’s a bit of both."
Lee Chan then presented Kim Gook-jin with a new foldable smartphone. Holding it for the first time, Kim Gook-jin exclaimed, "It’s lighter than I expected!"
Lee Chan encouraged Kim Gook-jin, saying, "By setting up the phone and installing apps yourself, many people will gain courage." Kim Gook-jin vowed, "I will learn one step at a time," but added jokingly that he would consider using messenger apps or delivery apps "if they bring in advertisements."
Meanwhile, Kim Gook-jin, born in 1965, is now 60 years old. He is currently active in various shows including MBC's 'Radio Star' and TV Chosun's 'Lovers of Joseon'.
