Singer and actress Suzy shared her thoughts about the drama 'Anna'.
On September 30, a video titled 'My Friend Who Has Become Stronger and Beginner YouTuber Part.2' was uploaded on the YouTube channel 'Jo Hyun-ah's Ordinary Thursday Night'. In the released video, Jo Hyun-ah had an honest conversation over drinks with her close friend Suzy, with whom she has been friends for 14 years.
Regarding her win for Best Actress in a Drama at the 2023 Blue Dragon Series Awards for 'Anna', Suzy expressed, "Honestly, rather than being happy, I have often felt that the awards I've received weren't truly mine, which made me uncomfortable. However, this made me think that I really did well with this project. I recognized that I had worked hard, and it was a time of acknowledgment for me." Jo Hyun-ah mentioned Suzy's achievements in winning Best Actress at the 2nd Blue Dragon Series Awards, the Asia Content Awards, and the Seoul Drama Awards, exclaiming, "Among the people I know, Suzy is the first to win Best Actress after starting as an idol."
Suzy said, "I dislike making excuses, and I generally think that everyone has a hard time. So, I don’t think I’m special. I believe it’s good to understand that it’s a profession where you need to shine in every moment and to keep a more objective perspective. I try to be strict with myself, and that feels comfortable."
Jo Hyun-ah recalled how Suzy had started a trend with ballet core, remembering her exercising days. Jo Hyun-ah mentioned, "In the past, Suzy gained weight, but when she exercised, she didn’t gain it back. At first, I thought it was just a joke that she was starting to work out. I felt a bit grumpy when she mentioned doing tennis and ballet." To this, Suzy disclosed, "When Jo Hyun-ah was really into exercising, she wore workout clothes all the time and came over to my house just to do handstands," which prompted laughter.
When Jo Hyun-ah said, "From a distance, it seems like Suzy doesn’t enjoy herself at all. Sometimes I think, 'She should be telling me about it,' but she doesn’t," Suzy replied, "I dislike being over the top. Even if it feels difficult, I believe I have to handle it alone." Suzy also reflected on the day she won the Best Actress award, recalling how Jo Hyun-ah congratulated her by bringing a lasting flower as a heartfelt gesture. "I was so happy, but I couldn't just be happy, and I found someone with whom I could share my happiness," she expressed with gratitude.
