Lee Hyori will take on the role of MC for Coupang Play's new entertainment program 'Just Makeup', marking her return as a survival program host after 16 years.
On the afternoon of October 1st, a press conference for 'Just Makeup' was held at the Pullman Ambassador Seoul East.
During the event, Hyori stated, "I have been given the role of MC where I need to follow the script exactly. While I'm confident in making things fun in the moment, pinpointing the exact moments can be challenging." This reflects her feelings about transitioning to a beauty MC.
'Just Makeup' is a large-scale makeup survival program where makeup artists, representing K-beauty on a global scale, fiercely compete with their unique styles. Hyori was selected as the MC due to her connection with the production company, Slam.
Regarding the casting, Hyori revealed, "Since makeup has always been a field I've become close with, I was the one who suggested that I host the show first," expressing her love for makeup.
In particular, Hyori added, "Having lived as a celebrity who receives makeup, now seeing it from the perspective of doing makeup was moving, and I realized I should feel grateful. It's also fun!" She mentioned, "I've tried almost every kind of makeup available. Now, I want to be in a position to support the participants," showcasing her anticipation for her new role as an MC.
Meanwhile, 'Just Makeup' is set to premiere on Fridays at 8 PM, starting from October 3rd.
