Actor Kim Soo-hyun's side has demanded evidence for the allegations made against the bereaved family of the late Kim Sae-ron and Kim Se-yi, representative of the YouTube channel 'Garo Sero Research Institute'.
On the 27th, Kim Soo-hyun's legal representative, Ko Sang-rok, expressed concern, stating, "With the rapidly advancing AI technology, anyone can become a victim of cybercrime at any time," and added, "The state cannot just stand by and allow this situation. We can all become victims." He emphasized, "Do not hide behind anonymity, and please clarify to the public the basis for asserting that the other party in KakaoTalk conversations from June 2016 and April 13, 2018, is actor Kim Soo-hyun."
Ko claimed that there was never a relationship between Kim Soo-hyun and Kim Sae-ron before she turned 18, saying, "Kim Se-yi fabricated evidence by claiming adult relationship photos as evidence of a relationship during her minor years." The letters sent while serving in the military only contained daily life, determination, and plans after discharge; however, it was falsely arranged alongside letters sent during the deceased's adulthood to suggest that feelings were expressed from the minor years.
In response, Kim Soo-hyun's side is demanding that the representative Kim Se-yi and the bereaved family submit all KakaoTalk records to investigative agencies.
Meanwhile, Kim Soo-hyun's agency Gold Medalist has already reported the bereaved family for violating the Stalking Punishment Act and defamation.
The Seoul Central District Court issued a 'preliminary injunction' ordering the 'Garo Sero Research Institute' to cease stalking behavior towards Kim Soo-hyun; however, the institute appealed but it was dismissed.
