Comedian Park Mi-sun, who halted her broadcasting activities due to health issues, is set to make her official return to the public after about 10 months.
According to broadcasting officials on the 30th, Park Mi-sun recently recorded an episode of tvN’s variety show You Quiz on the Block (referred to as You Quiz). This episode is scheduled to air in November and will mark her first appearance in front of viewers following her recovery.
This will be the first time Park Mi-sun has participated in a studio recording since leaving JTBC’s Han Moon-chul’s Black Box Review in January. At that time, she stopped all activities to focus on her treatment and had not made any public appearances since then.
According to industry sources, Park Mi-sun was diagnosed with early-stage breast cancer during a routine health check earlier this year. She has been focusing on her recovery while undergoing both radiation and medication treatments, and it is reported that she has recently completed all her treatments.
In related news, her close colleague, comedian Jo Hye-ryun, appeared on You Quiz on the 15th and shared, “I received a message from Park Mi-sun, stating, ‘I’ve completed my treatment, and thank you for your prayers.’” This drew a lot of support from the audience.
Meanwhile, Park Mi-sun debuted by winning a gold medal at the MBC Comedy Contest in 1988 and has established herself as a reliable host through her appearances on numerous variety and educational programs such as Sebakwi, Happy Together, and High School Mom and Dad.
