Lee Hae-ri from the duo Davichi candidly shared the honest reason behind her initial discomfort with Kang Min-kyung at the beginning of their career.
On the 30th, a video featuring Davichi was uploaded to Epik High's YouTube channel. In the video, Tablo began, "It's been 17 years since Davichi debuted, right?" to which Kang Min-kyung replied, "If we include the trainee period, it's 20 years," and Lee Hae-ri added, "I’ve been doing this for almost 21 years," reflecting on their long relationship.
Tablo praised their strong teamwork, saying, "There are hardly any groups that last this long without any member changes. It's really impressive." He then asked, "Did you have a good chemistry from the start?" and Lee Hae-ri unexpectedly answered, "No, not at all," surprising everyone.
Lee Hae-ri recalled, "Min-kyung greeted me too much. I found her overwhelming because she came on too strong from the beginning. She was very touchy and clingy." Kang Min-kyung, smiling, explained, "The first time I saw her was in the 3rd year of middle school. We became a team in the 1st year of high school."
Lee Hae-ri confessed, "At that time, I was much more introverted than I am now. I didn't like it when someone suddenly got close and touched me," while Kang Min-kyung joked, "That wasn't my style, but I was like a kid, clinging to her and saying 'Unnie~ Unnie~'. That's what I disliked about it."
Although the two had some awkwardness at the start of their debut, they have recognized and adjusted to each other's differences for nearly 20 years. As a result, Davichi has established itself as an iconic female ballad duo.
