Actor Jo Jung-suk opens up about his wife Gummy’s second pregnancy, blending heartfelt moments with his trademark humor.
Appearing on the upcoming episode of SBS’s My Little Old Boy, Jo Jung-suk delivers sweet family anecdotes and playful charm, earning the nickname “Master of Hearts.” He serenades the “Movenjers” fan mothers with a song and delights the studio with a set of four heart gestures.
Reflecting on Gummy’s pregnancy, Jo Jung-suk shares, “I wanted a second child, but I hesitated to bring it up because I didn’t want my wife to struggle again.” He reveals that it was Gummy who first initiated the conversation, saying, “Let’s have a second child,” while he was filming Zombie Daughter. “As soon as I heard that,” he laughs, “I jumped up from my seat.”
He adds a whimsical detail: “While preparing for the second child, I found ‘this’ during a walk. After that, we conceived — and we decided to name the baby after ‘this.’”
Now entering their seventh year of marriage, Jo Jung-suk reflects on their dynamic: “We rarely fight as a couple,” he says, before admitting there’s one recurring issue. “When my wife gets angry about that, it’s really scary. Her voice gets softer, and I end up saying, ‘Gummy, please calm down,’ using extreme courtesy,” he jokes, drawing laughter from the studio.
Jo Jung-suk also proudly shares a glimpse of his six-year-old daughter’s talents: “She takes after me in acting but has her mother’s voice,” he beams. When asked by Shin Dong-yup, “If both of them have talent, what would you like them to become?” Jo Jung-suk reportedly answered without hesitation.
