Actors Hyun Bin and Son Ye‑jin received the trophy as the first couple at the 46th Blue Dragon Film Awards, attracting the most enthusiastic attention from international readers on Global K‑Snapp during the period from November 20 to 26.

The 46th Blue Dragon Film Awards, held at KBS Hall in Yeouido, Seoul, was dominated by director Park Chan‑wook’s Decision to Leave. The film won a total of six awards, including Best Picture, Best Director, Best Actress, Best Supporting Actor, Best Music, and Best Technical Award, solidifying its status as the best film of the year.

Hyun Bin won the Best Actor award for his performance in the film Harbin, while Son Ye‑jin won the Best Actress award for Decision to Leave. Hyun Bin expressed his gratitude, stating, “I learned a lot through filming. I could stand here thanks to those who dedicated themselves to protecting the country,” while Son Ye‑jin candidly shared, “My perspective on the world has changed after marriage and childbirth.”

Decision to Leave tells the story of Mansoo (played by Lee Byung‑hun), a veteran who has worked in the paper industry for 25 years, suddenly getting fired and struggling to protect his wife and two children as well as the home he worked hard to acquire. The film has been recognized for its artistic quality and commercial success, screening at prestigious international film festivals including the Venice International Film Festival, the Busan International Film Festival, and the New York Film Festival.

Perhaps due to the intensifying global interest in the film, the news of the couple’s award garnered attention on the official Global K‑Snapp account on X (formerly Twitter).

With both of them being the first couple to raise the trophy at the Blue Dragon Film Awards, the public’s attention naturally shifts to their next steps. Hyun Bin is set to release the Disney+ original series Made in Korea. The series depicts South Korea in the 1970s, a time of chaos and transition, where Baek Gi‑tae (played by Hyun Bin), who seeks to rise to the peak of wealth and power using the nation as a profit model, faces monumental events alongside prosecutor Jang Gun‑young (played by Jung Woo‑sung), who pursues him relentlessly.

Son Ye‑jin has chosen the Netflix original series Scandal (working title) as her next project. The drama revolves around a talented woman, Lady Jo, who is trapped by her gender in Joseon, and the wild and dangerous love bet between the greatest romantic in Joseon, Jo Won. It also tells the story of a woman, Hee‑yeon, intertwined in that bet.

Additionally, Son Ye‑jin has been cast in the Netflix original series Variety. The series unfolds the story involving Sa‑eun, the entertainment representative who plans South Korea’s best idol group, Seung‑hee, an overly enthusiastic fan following them, and the desires of the people surrounding them, creating a variety of twists and turns.
