France-born dancer Kany, widely known as "Beyoncé's choreographer," has ended her run with Big Planet Made Entertainment. The two sides are going their separate ways less than two years after signing their exclusive deal.

On the 15th, a Big Planet Made Entertainment representative told multiple outlets, "After thorough discussions with Kany, we recently terminated the exclusive contract," adding, "We are deeply grateful to Kany for our time together and sincerely support her future activities." Although time remained on the contract, both parties reportedly agreed to end it early through an amicable settlement.

Kany signed an exclusive contract with Big Planet Made Entertainment in January last year as she ramped up activities in Korea. She raised her profile through TV appearances and choreography work, but is returning to freelance status after about one year and eleven months. Going forward, she plans to keep her Korean activities flexible with help from her Korean husband.

Kany is an internationally recognized choreographer who helped create the choreography for Beyoncé's 'My Power' and joined the world tour, and served as choreography director for Michael Jackson's posthumous release 'A Place With No Name.' In Korea, she expanded her fanbase by crafting numerous K-pop routines, including SHINee's 'HARD' and Key's 'Gasoline.'

Well known for her friendship with SHINee's Key, Kany appeared with him on the MBC variety show I Live Alone last year, showing off her candid daily life and quick wit. She drew buzz for a line she repeated while watching a drama at the time: "Did you sleep? You asleep? I said, did you sleep!"

Even after parting with her agency, Kany plans to continue collaborating with various artists as a choreographer. She also intends to keep running her personal YouTube series Finding Kany, and attention is now on her next chapter.
