HYBE label ADOR has officially terminated its exclusive contract with former NewJeans member Danielle and announced plans to pursue legal action seeking liquidated damages and compensation.
On December 29, ADOR stated that Danielle had violated her exclusive contract by entering conflicting agreements, engaging in independent activities, and failing to comply with corrective requests that allegedly harmed the company and the group’s reputation.
ADOR said it would file lawsuits for liquidated damages and additional compensation, explaining that the amount would be calculated using the formula outlined in the exclusive contract. While no specific figure was disclosed, industry estimates suggest the penalty could reach around 100 billion KRW, based on ADOR’s recent sales figures and the original contract term running until July 2029.
The label also indicated potential legal action against Danielle’s family members and former ADOR CEO Min Hee-jin, citing their role in triggering the dispute and delays in the group’s activities.
Meanwhile, the remaining NewJeans members have chosen to maintain their contracts with ADOR through continued negotiations, effectively ending discussions surrounding Danielle’s return.
