Broadcaster Yoo Jae-suk, holder of a record-breaking 21 Entertainment Daesang awards, is set to reveal his 2026 New Year fortune through an unconventional face-reading session.
On January 3, MBC’s variety show Hangout with Yoo will air a New Year special marking the Year of the Red Horse, featuring Yoo Jae-suk alongside Haha, Joo Woo-jae, and Heo Kyung-hwan as they meet a face reader to check their fortunes for the year ahead.
As the expert closely examines their features, the atmosphere quickly turns playful. When attention turns to Yoo Jae-suk’s teeth, he instinctively covers a slightly crooked tooth, triggering laughter across the set.
The reading expands beyond facial features into an “animal face reading,” which interprets personality and fate based on animal resemblances. Expecting to be labeled an “insect type,” Yoo Jae-suk is instead compared to a powerful animal said to be so formidable that even predators avoid it. The face reader adds that Yoo has been strongly supported by a “noble benefactor,” explaining that this figure played a significant role in his rise to popularity and long-standing success.
Haha is described as resembling a cute but crafty animal that dislikes being trapped in frustrating situations, while Joo Woo-jae is likened to an agile and intelligent animal that reveals a softer side only to those close to him.
Heo Kyung-hwan’s reading sparks the biggest reaction. Compared to an animal often dubbed an “idol of the animal kingdom,” he immediately protests when told it’s also known for short legs. When the reader adds that this animal becomes aggressive at exactly three moments, Yoo Jae-suk jokes, “Let’s make sure we never provoke Kyung-hwan then,” sending the group into laughter.
The full results and their 2026 fortunes will be revealed on January 3 at 6:30 p.m. (KST).
