Actor Jung Woo-sung’s agency has firmly denied online allegations of “flooding praise posts” related to Disney+’s original series Made in Korea.

On the 14th, Jung’s agency, Artist Company, told multiple media outlets that the recent viral marketing suspicions were “completely unfounded,” stressing that the posts in question were “in no way related to the agency.”

The controversy arose after numerous posts praising or defending Jung Woo-sung’s acting in Made in Korea appeared across online communities and local parenting forums. Some netizens raised suspicions, pointing to similarities in the wording of the posts and the timing of their uploads, questioning whether they were part of a coordinated viral campaign.

Set in South Korea in the 1970s, Made in Korea follows Baek Ki-tae (played by Hyun Bin), a man who seeks to rise to the top of power by turning the state itself into a profit-driven enterprise, and prosecutor Jang Geon-young (played by Jung Woo-sung), who relentlessly pursues him as they become entangled in major 사건s that define the era.

While the series has continued to show strong momentum since its release, reactions to Jung Woo-sung’s performance have been mixed. Some viewers criticized his exaggerated gestures and hearty laughter, saying they “broke immersion,” while others defended the portrayal as being in line with the character’s design.

Amid these divided opinions, the sudden spread of praise posts fueled further suspicion. However, the agency reiterated that the allegations were baseless and dismissed the claims outright.

The final episode of Made in Korea will be released on the 14th.
