The brutal cold may rage on, but K-pop is already heating up as hype explodes for a massive February comeback war.

First up, BLACKPINK — who have dominated globally as a group and through each member's solo projects — finally confirmed a long-awaited February return. Their full-group comeback arrives three years and five months after their September 2022 second studio album 'BORN PINK,' sending BLINKs' excitement through the roof.

BLACKPINK will drop their third mini album 'DEADLINE' at 1 p.m. on February 27, officially kicking off their comeback. The album title matches their ongoing world tour, which started last July at Goyang Sports Complex and has continued worldwide — a first for a K-pop girl group at that venue scale. According to details revealed via Apple Music's pre-save, the new release will include five tracks, including the pre-release single 'JUMP.' Notably, tracks 3 and 5 are expected to be age-restricted, sparking intense curiosity.

Meanwhile, IVE revealed they're in the final stages, aiming for a late-February comeback — sending shockwaves through the industry.

Since 2022's 'LOVE DIVE' up to their fourth mini album 'IVE SECRET' released about six months ago, every project has surpassed one million in total shipments, earning them a 'seven-time million-seller' streak. They've swept music-show trophies and cemented their status as a leading 4th-gen girl group.

Their global momentum is just as fierce. IVE performed for two consecutive years at 'Lollapalooza,' including the Berlin and Paris editions, becoming a fixture on major stages. They also locked in a spot at Japan's 'Rock in Japan Festival 2025,' further solidifying their festival power.

Building the hype, starting on the 21st, IVE rolled out member-by-member 'Coming Soon' videos on their official YouTube channel. Wonyoung Jang's teaser — an homage to the film Kill Bill — and Yujin An's unexpectedly pure, elegant concept drew especially strong attention.

IVE will unveil the pre-release single 'BANG BANG' at 6 p.m. on February 9 before making their full comeback in late February.

On top of that, rookie SM Entertainment group Hearts2Hearts, who debuted last year, is also expected to join the February showdown.

On the 14th, Daily Sports reported, "Hearts2Hearts will release a new song in late February and return to fans." The new track is expected to arrive as a digital single rather than a physical album. After scoring back-to-back hits with 'The Chase,' 'STYLE,' and 'FOCUS,' all eyes are on what concept Hearts2Hearts will use to capture fans this time.

From 3rd-gen giants BLACKPINK to 4th-gen leaders IVE and 5th-gen rookies Hearts2Hearts, February is shaping up to be a full-on girl group clash. With such heavy hitters lined up, K-pop listeners are watching closely to see who will come out on top.
