Actor Jeon Jong-seo candidly revealed why she began living apart from her mother after her father's battle with a rare disease and his passing.

Recently, model-actor Jang Yoon-ju uploaded a video on her YouTube channel showing her visit to Jeon Jong-seo's home.

Introducing the house, Jeon said, "This used to be the place where I lived with my parents." She recalled that as her father developed a rare illness, even using the stairs became difficult for him, and from that time, assistive devices began to be installed throughout the home. Eventually, her parents moved to a space that could accommodate a wheelchair, and in the new place, her father's condition worsened and he ultimately passed away.

That left just Jeon and her mother. Jeon stayed with her mother for a while, but her mother was the one who first suggested they live separately, saying, "I can't keep living in that house." Jeon shared, "Our daily rhythms were different, and after my dad passed, it felt like my mom became a completely different person." She added, "The mom with my dad and the mom without him were totally different. It took me about two years to accept that," moving Jang Yoon-ju.

After some time, Jeon decided to return to the home where she had lived with her parents. "Looking back, I think I was happiest when I lived here," she said. "So I decided to live here alone again." Jang cheered on Jeon's newly refreshed day-to-day life, and the two spent a warm, comforting time together.

Jeon lost her father in 2023 to spinocerebellar ataxia, a rare neurodegenerative disease. At the time, her boyfriend, director Lee Chung-hyun, stayed by her side and drew attention.
