Fresh off completing his ROK Marine Corps service, GREE (birth name Kim Dong-hyun), the son of comedian Kim Gu-ra, surprised viewers with a rapid return to television, appearing on MBC’s variety show Radio Star just four hours after his discharge — still in full uniform.

In the teaser released on the 30th, GREE enters the studio wearing his fatigues and formally delivers his discharge report on air, saying, “I have been ordered to return to the loving arms of my parents after completing my service. Reporting accordingly. Pilseung!” Kim Gu-ra looks on proudly, while guest Jo Hye-ryun unexpectedly bursts into tears. Caught off guard, Kim Gu-ra jokes, “I’m the one who should be crying — why are you?” prompting laughter in the studio. GREE then bows deeply and says, “Father, I love you,” turning the moment emotional.

The tender atmosphere quickly shifts as GREE playfully teases his father, remarking, “Public service and active duty are worlds apart,” in reference to Kim Gu-ra’s supplementary service. Kim Gu-ra fires back, “Your mindset is rotten,” sparking their familiar father-son banter. GREE ends the exchange by declaring, “Starting today, I’m not getting dragged into this anymore,” drawing another round of laughs.

Other guests react warmly. Singer Kim Won-joon congratulates GREE on his discharge and even gives him pocket money, while rapper Hanhae celebrates the moment with a spontaneous serenade. GREE also proudly repeats the Marine slogan “Once a Marine, always a Marine” and shows off his strength with pull-ups.

GREE voluntarily enlisted in July 2024 and served in the artillery brigade of the ROK Marine Corps’ 2nd Division before being honorably discharged on the 28th. His appearance on Radio Star airs on February 4 at 10:30 p.m.
