Former baseball star Hwang Jae-gyun, who divorced T-ara's Jiyeon, laid everything bare — from his ideal type to the possibility of remarriage — in a candid talk that's already sparking buzz.
On the Feb 2 episode of the web variety show 'Jjanhan-hyung,' guests Ryu Hyun-jin and his wife Bae Ji-hyun, Son Ah-seop, and Hwang Jae-gyun appeared together. Put on the spot by a barrage of questions, Hwang looked flustered but still gave unfiltered answers.
When asked about his ideal type, Hwang waved it off, saying, "Why are you doing this to me?" He continued, "Everyone I dated was different. Some friends couldn't understand one person I dated, while others said, 'She's really pretty.' I don't have a fixed type. In the end, I like someone who's attractive and draws me in." Son Ah-seop and Ryu Hyun-jin chimed in, laughing that "Jae-gyun's taste is truly all over the place."
As the talk went on, Hwang joked, "I'm doomed. Remarriage or whatever — I think it's all over for me," self-deprecatingly shrugging it off. But when asked point-blank if he was open to remarriage, he gave a cautious yet positive answer. "I really love kids. I've always thought about having children," he said. In past variety appearances, he'd also shared, "If I have a son, I want him to play baseball," while saying after seeing his nieces, "A daughter would be great, too."
Hwang married Jiyeon in December 2022 and divorced two years later in 2024.
